FOR WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHERS SEEKING DEPTH, CREATIVE FULFILMENT, AND LONGEVITY

WHY DOES THIS MENTORING EXIST?

I’m so incredibly grateful for wedding photography.

It has shaped my life in ways I could never have predicted. It gave me the ability to support myself and my child as a single mother, to travel, to continue growing creatively as a fine art photographer, and to live an abundant, creative, and exciting life.

I love it, and I love teaching and mentoring. I spent well over a decade teaching yoga, creating courses and trainings, mentoring yoga teachers, and training in somatics and various therapeutic modalities. It feels like a natural, organic progression for me at this time in my life, with the wealth of experience and wisdom I have gained, to support other photographers by sharing everything I have learned from the various lives I have lived.

THE
STAGE
MANY
PHOTOGRAPHERS
NEVER
REACH

Most photographers give up before they ever reach the point where it becomes truly enjoyable. The early years of a wedding photography career are intense. There’s investment, pressure, long hours, and a lot to figure out all at once. It can feel overwhelming and isolating, and it’s often the stage where people start to question whether they can keep going

But there is a sweet spot that comes later. For me, it arrived about six years in, when I suddenly realised I wasn’t stressed anymore. I was calm and could rely on my experience to get me through any eventuality. By that stage, most things you would never want to happen had happened, and I had survived.

I wasn’t second-guessing myself. I was settling back into my instincts. I wasn’t fazed or crushed by other photographers’ work. My communication with clients was improving, and from that point on, I began to find freedom in how I worked. I was of service to my clients, but I could also find creative fulfilment and freedom.

I would love for more photographers to experience this stage. Wedding photography remains one of the most lucrative and flexible income streams in photography, and it has the potential to be hugely creatively fulfilling too. Of course, wedding photography isn’t for everyone, and in our sessions together, you may also realise that your true passion and unique gifts are better suited to something else.

AN INTENTIONALLY ANTI-HUSTLE APPROACH

I don’t believe a good photography career comes from constant pressure, constant visibility, or trying to do everything the way everyone else is doing it.

It’s very noisy out there.

Sometimes you need to step back from that noise to work out who you are, where you want to go, and how you want to get there.

WHAT
THIS
MENTORING
IS
&
WHAT
IT
IS
NOT

A successful wedding photography career looks different for everyone.

For some, it’s ten weddings a year while the kids are doing their GCSEs. For others, it’s sixty weddings a year across thirty different locations.

So this is not mentoring with preconceived goals.

It’s not an upgrading-your-workflow-systems, top-camera-techniques, tips-for-posing-couples kind of mentoring. There is an abundance of information available that can teach those things.

I believe wedding photography is primarily about relationships — with your clients, with the industry, and most importantly with yourself.

That is what we explore together.

We look at relationships in many ways: between you and your subjects, between you and your camera, between you and your business, and between you and your creative voice.

MY APPROACH

These sessions are shaped by many years of working one-to-one with people in a therapeutic setting.

I have a lot of experience and, so I’m told, a real knack for recognising where people are stuck or stagnant and gently helping them move through it.

I love igniting a spark in people.

The kind of spark that moves you inwards towards a clearer understanding of yourself, and forwards into meaningful action with a clear plan towards your dreams.
